  • We are planning a variety of exciting activities for this conference, including cutting-edge research presentations and interactive workshops. These activities will cover a wide range of fields, from mechanical, electrical, and aerospace engineering to civil engineering and architecture, ensuring that participants from diverse disciplines find value in the program.
  • We are especially honored to welcome Professor Noboru Kikuchi, Professor Emeritus of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan, former Director of Toyota Central R&D Labs, and currently the President and CEO of Toyota Konpon Research Institute, as well as Professor Christian Hüne from DLR (German Aerospace Center) and Braunschweig University of Technology, as keynote speakers. Their insights will illuminate the latest advancements in their respective fields.
  • Additionally, we will organize technical tours for participants, focusing on specialized topics, as well as hospitality tours to offer an enjoyable cultural experience for accompanying guests.
  • The finalized program will include detailed session descriptions and further information about these tours. We are dedicated to making this conference a meaningful and enjoyable experience for all participants and their accompanying guests. Keynote lecture

Prof. Noboru Kikuchi

President and CEO, Toyota Konpon Research Institute

Prof. Noboru Kikuchi is an Emeritus Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan and a Foreign Member of the National Academy of Engineering. He has also served as a Technical Director at Toyota Motor Corporation and as President and Director of Toyota Central R&D Labs, Inc.

Prof. Christian Hühne

Professor at Technische Universität Braunschweig / Head of the Institute of Lightweight Systems, German Aerospace Center (DLR)

Prof. Christian Hühne specializes in the design and analysis of aerospace structures, the application and optimization of composite materials, structural health monitoring, and durability evaluation. He is a leading authority in the field of functional structures within aerospace engineering.

RILEM TC Workshop

Quality and performance assurance of additively manufactured cementitious composites by advanced non-invasive techniques

The practical application of 3D-printed layered structures is advancing globally, but efficient methods to ensure their quality have not yet been established. We have initiated activities within the RILEM committee to develop and standardize such methods. We are planning multiple presentations on cutting-edge technologies and active discussions at IIIAE 2025.

“Tribology-Driven Innovation: Sensing, Monitoring, and Advanced Manufacturing”

This session will explore applications of tribology technology in manufacturing, with a particular focus on acoustic emission (AE) sensing.

Presentations will cover a wide range of examples and the latest results from both academic and industrial perspectives, including real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, surface modification, and smart materials.
 We warmly welcome participants with interests in diverse fields such as automotive, robotics, medical devices, and aerospace.

While the technical sessions of the International Conference on Acoustic Emission (IIIAE2025) are underway, we are pleased to offer a special tour program for accompanying guests.
